Around the world, ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s global health security experts work side-by-side with National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs), Ministries of Health, and other ministries to help speed their response to global public health emergencies, expand and strengthen laboratory and surveillance networks, and enhance critical workforce capacities.

  • ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø has over 1,700 public health professionals in approximately 60 countries. There are about 1,300 locally employed staff and 400 staff from the United States.
  • DGHP maintains a presence in 45 of these countries: African Union, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Caribbean Regional Office, Central America & Caribbean Regional Office (Panama), Central America Regional Office (Guatemala), Central Asia Region (Kazakhstan), China, Colombia, Cote D Ivoire, DRC, East Asia & Pacific Regional Office (Japan), Eastern Europe & Central Asia Regional Office (Georgia), Ecuador, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Middle East & North Africa Regional Office (Oman), Mozambique, Nigeria, Nigeria Regional, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South America Regional Office (Brazil), Southeast Asia Regional Office (Vietnam), Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Zambia.

Global reach and local impact

ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's reach at home and abroad allows us to use global insights to strengthen domestic programs. It also allows us to apply lessons learned in the U.S. to help accelerate progress in global health security and build core capacities in disease detection and response.
