In 2023, viral hepatitis cases were reported by some US territories. Most of the cases reported were chronic hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis C. Guam reported 50 chronic hepatitis B and 28 chronic hepatitis C cases. Puerto Rico reported 167 chronic hepatitis B and 1,070 chronic hepatitis C cases. The US Virgin Islands reported 10 chronic hepatitis B and 13 chronic hepatitis C cases. The capacity of each territory for identifying, investigating, and notifying ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø of cases varies considerably on the basis of resources and infrastructure available for conducting viral hepatitis surveillance.
