Since October 1983, ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's Division of Tuberculosis Control,
Center
for Prevention Services, has supplied the experimental drug,
ansamycin
LM427, under a "compassionate" investigational new drug permit to
physicians treating patients with serious mycobacterial disease
unresponsive to conventional therapy. Beginning Monday, February
18,
1985, physicians requesting the drug for new patients should
contact
the ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Drug Service at (404) 329-3670 during normal working hours.
Ansamycin LM427 is not released at night or during weekends. The
Division of Tuberculosis Control ((404) 329-2530) will continue to
provide medical consultation on the treatment of mycobacterial
diseases.
