In 1991, health departments in all 50 states, New York City,
and the District of Columbia reported to ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø 26,283 cases of
tuberculosis through the Report of a Verified Case of Tuberculosis
surveillance system -- an increase of 582 cases (2.3%) from 25,701
cases reported in 1990 (1). The tuberculosis incidence rate for
1991 was 10.4 per 100,000 population, compared to 10.3 per 100,000
in 1990.
