ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's Office of Workforce and Career Development and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE)
have convened a panel to define competencies for applied
epidemiology for local, state, and federal public health
epidemiologists. This panel includes representatives of state and local public health agencies, academia, private industry, and ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø. The draft competency document for Tier 2 (i.e., mid-level) epidemiologists is now available for review and
comment at .
Practicing epidemiologists can review this document and submit comments online through September 16, 2005, at

comments to [email protected]. Competencies for Tier 1 (i.e., frontline) and Tier 3 (i.e., senior) epidemiologists will
be available for comment in October 2005.
The panel will consider all information received and revise
