Three days later, it grew to a category 1 hurricane near Haiti before weakening as it moved across Cuba as a tropical storm. Ernesto made landfall in Brunswick County, North Carolina on August 31, 2006.
Heavy rainfall from August 31 to September 1 resulted in extensive flooding of low-lying areas, roads, and streams across eastern North Carolina. ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø provided environmental, worker safety, and risk communication/health education.
