What we do
The Office of Science Quality and Library Services (OSQLS) provides strategic oversight, leadership, and guidance for implementing and tracking ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s scientific clearance processes and systems and ensures the agency complies with the Information Quality Act. The ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Library, housed within OSQLS, provides agency access and support to research and literature searches and provides technical assistance and trainings to ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø staff on using research tools and systems.
Our work
There are several functional areas of OSQLS:
- The Science Support Activity increases the impact of ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø science by promoting high standards of scientific quality, relevance, credibility, and utility in the agency through the support of ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø scientists and programs.
- The e-Clearance and Public Access Activity ensures that the best possible science is available to public health departments, partners, and the public through support of the ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø scientific clearance process and support and promotion of public access to ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø science.
Director

Dr. Bao-Ping Zhu is a medical epidemiologist with extensive domestic and international experience in public health. He first joined ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø as an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer in 1996. Since then, he has held multiple scientific leadership positions with ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø, state health departments, and other public health organizations.
