How to prepare
Applying to Be a Host Site
If you are from a federal agency outside of HHS, please email [email protected] to discuss a participant placement.
CIOs that are within HHS or ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø must apply using the ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø host site application.

Anticipated Start Date
Start dates are flexible. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis to best match participants with potential sites. Not all preferences can be accommodated.
Appointment Length
Varied
Intern/Extern Classification & Compensation
Interns/Externs will be as classified as Student Worksite Experience Program participants and the host CIO will be their preceptor. The intern/extern will not receive a monthly stipend but can seek educational credit.
Fellow Classification & Compensation
Fellows will be classified as an ORISE fellow, and a full-time employee at the host site must serve as the preceptor. The fellow will receive a monthly stipend based on educational level and experience.
Level of Participation
May be part-time or full-time.
Citizenship Requirements
ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's Public Health Law educational opportunities are available to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and foreign nationals. Non-U.S. citizen applicants should refer to the ORISE web page for information about the valid immigration statuses that are acceptable for program participation.
