From 2010 to 2015, ÐÇ¿ÕÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø, the Office of Adolescent Health, and the Office of Population Affairs collaborated on an innovative teen pregnancy prevention project. This project tested the effectiveness of multicomponent, community-wide initiatives in reducing rates of teen pregnancy and teen births.

About the Community-Wide Initiatives
Nine state- and community-based organizations and five national organizations were funded through the 5-year cooperative agreement, Teenage Pregnancy Prevention: Integrating Services, Programs, and Strategies Through Community-Wide Initiatives.
The five national organizations provided training and technical assistance to the nine state and community-based organizations. The state- and community-based grantees, in turn, provided training and technical assistance to local health centers and youth-serving organizations. This work involved five key components:
- Community Mobilization.
- Stakeholder Education.
- Evidence-Based Programs.
- Increasing Youth Access to Quality Sexual and Reproductive Health Services.
- Working with Diverse Communities to Promote Health Equity.
