At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to:
1: Define the term “burnout”.
2: Explain why public health workers are at risk of experiencing burnout.
3: Explain the potential consequences of burnout for workers and their organizations.
4: Identify examples of prevalent and influential demands that may lead to burnout for public health workers.
5: Describe how each level of the IGLOO (individual, group, leader, organization, overarching context) framework is connected to the experience of burnout among public health workers.
6: Describe examples of intervention strategies to address demands-resources imbalances that could be applied at each level of the IGLOO model.
